Stainless steel or nonstick — which cookware is better?
Different jobs. Stainless is durable, handles high heat, sears and browns beautifully, and has no coating to wear out — but food sticks more and it needs technique. Nonstick makes eggs and cleanup effortless but the coating wears out in a few years and can’t take high heat. Ideal: a stainless set plus one nonstick pan.
Is ceramic (PFAS-free) nonstick worth it?
If you want to avoid traditional nonstick chemicals (PTFE/PFOA), yes — ceramic coatings like GreenPan’s release food well and are made without PFAS. The trade-off is that ceramic nonstick generally wears out faster than PTFE, so treat it gently (low-medium heat, no metal on softer ones) to make it last.
What does “14-piece” actually mean?
Watch the piece count — it includes lids, and often utensils and bakeware, not 14 pans. A “14-piece set” might be six actual pots and pans plus lids and tools. Look at the specific pieces listed, not just the headline number, so you get the sizes you’ll really use.
Will these work on an induction cooktop?
